Chinese Nephrite Jade Pendants for Sale in the UK

Browse current UK listings for Chinese nephrite jade pendants, from carved plaques and floral designs to dragons, auspicious beasts and boat motifs. Prices in these examples range from around £10 to £90, so compare more than the asking price. Check the pendant’s dimensions and weight, carving detail, stated condition, and whether the seller describes it as antique, vintage or modern. Look closely at photographs for chips, cracks, drilling, repairs and wear, and review any information about marks, jade identification, provenance and postage before buying.

What to Look For

Check the listing’s dimensions and weight against the photographs, as pendants can appear larger online than they are. Nephrite may range from pale to deep green, grey, white or mottled tones; colour alone does not confirm the material. Look closely at close-up images for chips, hairline cracks, worn carving, drilled holes and edge damage. Ask whether the pendant is drilled, mounted or supplied with a necklace, and whether fittings are original or later replacements. Terms such as “Hetian”, “Qing” or “antique” should be supported by clear evidence rather than accepted at face value. Request details of any restoration, testing, marks and provenance, and check UK postage, returns and insurance.

Buying Tips

When comparing Chinese nephrite jade pendants in the UK, check the stated dimensions and weight as well as the photographs: small plaques can look larger online. Look closely for chips, cracks, drilled holes, edge wear, polishing or repaired areas, and confirm whether the cord or chain is included. Treat terms such as “antique”, “Qing” and “Hetian” as seller descriptions unless supporting evidence is provided. Review marks, provenance, returns, postage, insurance and delivery times before buying.
