Free Online Antique Valuation & Appraisal Service Needed

My aunt passed away a few months ago and myself and my husband had the horrendous task of clearing her house out, the house was extremely hoarded, in the end we had to get professionals in to clear the house as it was too much for us to cope with.

A number of antique type item were found during the clear out, see pictures below.

I am looking for a free antique appraisal and valuation service online.

Has anyone have experience with this type of thing? Any info appreciated.

  1. My advice do not bother with any site that offers free online antique appraisal and valuation service, in my experience a total waste of time.

  2. I recently used a so call free antique appraisal service, no info and no history given and a silly valuation given. Use a paid for service such as antiqueappraisals.net or ivaluer.

The free service offered by mr-expert is based in france and simply fills the reply email with affiliate links to an auction site called catawiki.

    No such thing as free….

  3. I have used many online antique valuation and appraisals services on behalf of our clients, I work for an estate clearance company.

The free antique appraisal services are never free, there is always a catch. Steer clear of a service called mr-expert, they try to get you to sell your item in an online auction called catawiki and they get a commission.

Stick with the professional paid for appraisal services if you want a thorough valuation.

Sites that offer professional appraisals that our company use are value my stuff, or antiqueappraisals.net, also you could use Sotheby’s but expect to wait weeks for a reply.

  4. antiqueappraisals.net has never let me down, your china display case looks English and to date to the 1900s, nice piece.

  5. When we cleared a relative’s home out, we also came across many antique items with potential value. We upload pics of our items to antiqueappraisals.net, no complaints.

  6. Hi, your star quilt looks like a Texas type, my gran had one very similar. You could post your photos on an antiques or collectors message forum if you’re looking for a free service, I am sure someone will help.

My advice if you’re serious about getting your antique items appraised and valued correctly would be to bite the bullet and used a paid service such as antiqueappraisals.net (have used before). Last thing you want is bad advice.

  7. Google antiqueappraisals.net, or value my stuff or try your local auction, just google it. Stay away from the free antique appraisal valuation services, always strings attached.
